Why did Coinbase cancel my order?

Bitcoin and ether transactions are not reversible, so for your safety and ours we use a risk algorithm to flag potentially fraudulent purchases. Unfortunately, sometimes it flags legitimate transactions too. The algorithm is always improving but is not perfect. On occasion it can incorrectly cancel a transaction even when it is not fraudulent.

If you have transactions that have been inaccurately flagged, we genuinely apologize and we ask that you please take the following steps:
  1. Complete the verification steps found here: https://www.coinbase.com/verifications
  2. Verify your ID using our secure upload portal here: https://www.coinbase.com/verifications/documents
  3. Contact us

Our fraud prevention team is working very hard to make sure that legitimate orders do not get canceled. Completing these steps and sending us a message will help ensure our risk algorithm is being used correctly. We'll be happy to help correct any mistakes.
