XRP (XRP) FAQ

Announcement: As of February 25, 2018, Coinbase will add XRP (XRP) to our supported assets. Coinbase customers in qualifying countries will now be able to buy, sell, send, and receive XRP at Coinbase and Coinbase Pro. What is XRP (XRP)?

XRP is the cryptocurrency used by the XRP ledger, which supports international currency exchange and remittances. XRP can function as a bridge currency in transactions involving different currencies such as US dollars, Japanese yen, Euros, Francs, and others in use on the XRP network.


How do I buy XRP on Coinbase?

Coinbase customers from eligible regions can buy XRP on Coinbase.com and on Coinbase Pro. To see which regions support trading XRP, please see our Supported Digital Currencies page.

Purchased XRP will be displayed as an asset within your Coinbase wallet in your Accounts page on Coinbase.com or in the Coinbase mobile app. There is no minimum purchase amount of XRP on Coinbase. 

 

Can I send XRP to Coinbase? 

Yes, however, XRP utilizes Destination Tag technology and a Destination Tag is required to send XRP to Coinbase. You must always include the correct Destination Tag before sending a deposit to Coinbase. Omitting or using an incorrect Destination Tag will cause a delay in crediting the transaction to your Coinbase account. Under certain circumstances, these funds may not be creditable. If you attempt to send XRP to Coinbase without a destination tag, your funds will not be received. Please contact the exchange that you sent the funds from for help. 

Is there a minimum amount to send?
No, There is no minimum amount required to send funds to Coinbase. However, most exchanges charge a minimum of 20 XRP to send XRP. Sending XRP from Coinbase requires a minimum send of 22 XRP.
